Solder in the 80–89% tin range commonly includes high-tin alloys used for barrier coatings, electromagnetic (EMI) and radio-frequency (RF) shielding in capacitors and other electronic components. These compositions are also found in specialized solder applications requiring higher strength, improved corrosion resistance, or elevated temperature performance.
